The Lewis County Emerging Professionals network was established to attract and retain professionals by enhancing the social, professional, and community outreach opportunities available to emerging professionals within Lewis County and to increase the opportunity for communication, shared knowledge and interaction between those individuals, uniting them in a common cause to promote community development and service.
The chair duties are the following:
The President of the LCEP should be the face of the organization. His/her main focus should be driving the brand and awareness of the LCEP throughout Lewis County’s various businesses and organizations. The President should regularly be meeting with leadership throughout the county to help with awareness or to meet with event coordinators. He/she should be the obvious leader to any current members as well as anyone outside of the LCEP.
Responsibilities of President:
The Vice President of the LCEPs main duty is to manage and oversee the different Sub Committees of the LCEP while also assisting the president in the daily functions of the group.
Responsibilities of Vice President:
The Secretary for the LCEP will be responsible for maintaining the structure and organization of the group as a whole. The secretary ensures the meeting schedule is in place and adhered to, and follows up on all action items for the group. The secretary "brands" the LCEP name and should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. He/She will be prompt, organized, outgoing, and detail oriented to facilitate the projects taken on by the group.
Responsibilities of Secretary:
The Personal Development Committee Chair of the EPN will strive to provide knowledgeable, experience driven answers on all aspects of life and is responsible for connecting people to others who have an expertise in areas outside the day to day work environment. It is also the duty of the personal development chair to promote a positive outlook on life both inside and outside of work.
Responsibilities of Personal Development Chair:
• Understand LCEP mission and be able to coach LCEP members applying those values to their career goals.
• Manage the information flow of value added life coaching content to the LCEP.
• Work to provide answers to emerging professionals’ questions concerning buying a house and/or car, etc..
• Must comprehend personal budgeting and be able to coach it on a one-on-one level to fellow members to help them achieve their financial goals.
• Responsible for planning and running the personal development and team building event _________. (bowling?)
The goal of the recruitment chairman is to promote the LCEP to all eligible participants in order to gain commitment and attendance. By proving that the LCEP is a value added benefit for an emerging professional’s career (no matter their age!), and the recruitment chairman can extend the reach of the LCEP by adding more members. When a new employee has become a full member of the LCEP, it is then the recruitment chairman’s job to maintain that commitment to the network.
Responsibilities of Recruitment Chair:
The goal of the Marketing Chair is to promote the LCEP through excellent promotional materials. By creating and distributing marketing materials, the benefits of the LCEP will spread throughout different departments throughout the entire county
Responsibilities of Marketing Chair:
Generate marketing materials for all LCEP meetings and events.
• Work alongside the Recruitment and Retention Chair as well as the Personal Development Chair in order to deliver marketing materials in a timely manner.
• Create marketing for the prospective membership presentations and packets.
• Measure and analyze data collected by the Recruitment and Retention Chair to ensure we are fulfilling the mission of the LCEP.
Website Administrator
It is the job of the Website Administrator to continuously update the LCEP’s website. This tool is necessary for all current and future members to see relevant information regarding to the LCEP.
Responsibilities of Website Administrator
• Update website weekly with all new information including meeting dates, attendance records, fundraiser information and monthly events.
• Acts as the main contact for any information updates.
• Responsible for updating any video feed on to the website.
• Maintain LCEP Website, meeting minutes, contact info and updates. Website maintenance for Meeting Minutes page as well as reminding the other board members to update their pages as well. Meeting Minutes posted after every meeting presenter, including updates for following meetings, and quotes.
2. The Board may appoint standing and ad hoc help as needed.
V. Meetings
1. Regular meetings shall be held once every month on the first Wednesday of the month for a period of 1 hour for all LCEP Board members (location and time tentatively 5:30pm at Jeb’s for each meeting).
2. Following the board meeting there will be a happy hour beginning at 6:30pm and open to all members of the LCEP.
3. Meetings can be altered to accommodate board members’ schedule on an as needed basis.
VI. Conflict of Interest
1. Any member of the Chair who has a personal, or official interest in, or conflict (or appearance of a conflict) with any matter that impedes their obligatory duties as a EPN member will offer to the Steering Committee to voluntarily excuse him/herself and will vacate his/her position.
