Lock and Talk Lewis County promotes the importance of limiting access to lethal means for a person with suicide thoughts, and we teach anyone how to have conversations that can save lives using a variety of evidence-based skills trainings.

Medication Lock Boxes (limited supply)

Medication Disposal
The Lewis County Health System houses a medication disposal station for unused and expired medication. The disposal station is in the entryway of the Lewis County Health System, before entering the lobby. For more information, visit https://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/67720.html
Accepted medications: prescriptions (schedule II-V controlled and non-controlled substances), prescription ointments, vitamins, prescription patches, pet medications, over-the-counter medications.
Not accepted: needles, inhalers, aerosol cans, thermometers, lotions, liquid, hydrogen peroxide.
